Red Hawk Park is a 42-acre park owned in conjunction with the DuPage County Forest Preserve. The Klein Creek runs through the middle of the park. A bike/walking trail runs through the park and leads south to the Great Western Trail and north, traveling under the busy North Avenue (Route 64), to the Bark Park and Barbara O’Rahilly Volunteer Park. At Volunteer Park, the trail connects to the Kuhn Road trail.
The park provides protection of the natural waterway, Klein Creek, and high and dry land for sports fields. A barn-themed playground accommodates ages 2 through 12 and is located next to a picnic shelter (available to reserve).
Red Hawk Park was farmland originally belonging to the Charley Lenz family, early settlers of Carol Stream.
Parking is available at 651 W. St. Charles Road. For football and some special events that may take place on the west side of the park, parking may be available behind Wayne Township offices at 27W031 North Avenue, West Chicago.
