On-line Ticket Sales

Ticket sales will be online and at the door (limited) only. Dance families will receive a ticket code via email on April 9, 2024 for priority purchase. The codes are 1 time use only! We have allocated 10 tickets per dance family during the priority sale. When general sales open, dance families may purchase additional tickets above the 10 ticket per family limit. Tickets are $11 online plus minimal charges.

Priority seating is limited to 10 tickets per family, however additional tickets may be purchased when General sales open base on availability. Fundraisers:

In an effort to raise money that goes back towards the dance program we run a few fundraisers at our dance recital.  We will run the following fundraisers:

• Concessions: Concessions will be sold during intermission. We are asking donations are turned in at dress rehearsal on SATURDAY, May 17^th,outlined below:

• Forté Parent Volunteers: We ask Forte parents to help with a few small tasks at dance recital. A google doc will go out to these families for parents to sign up. Tasks include ushering, dancer holding room assistants, concessions.

You will always be able to see your child perform.

Dance Recital Picture Day: Sunday, April 27 12:00-4:00 PM at Simkus Recreation Center

• Pictures will be ordered online. Separate information will be emailed out.
• If you cannot attend picture day, email rachela@csparks.org as soon as possible.
• Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled picture time.
• Dance Parents/Guardians are not permitted in the picture area.
• Check in dancer with your dance instructor and sit with your dance class until picture time.
• No eating or drinking in costume.
• Arrive fully dressed with makeup and hair done. Dancers may choose how to wear hair. Light make-up is highly recommended.
• There will be chairs set up in the hallway for parents to wait during pictures, only dancers will be allowed into the program room.
• Combo dance classes will be taking picture in ballet shoes.

Dance Recital Dress Rehearsal Schedule

May 17 at Glenbard North High School: 990 Kuhn Rd, Carol Stream, IL 60188

• Arrive 15 minutes prior to your scheduled rehearsal time dressed in costume and dance shoes.
• Only dancers will be permitted in the backstage area, parents/guardians will need to bring dancer to the auditorium.
• Check in with your dance instructor and dancers will be shown to designated seats. One parent/guardian may sit in rows behind the dancers so teachers can give direction to dancers without distractions.
• Non-flash photography and battery operated video is permitted during dress rehearsal. Be aware this is a rehearsal. ***Important, only one parent/guardian per student will be allowed in the auditorium. We ask that you remain seated 10 rows back from the dancers. Anyone who is distracting to the dancers or instructors will be asked to wait in the lobby. ***

Dance Recital Day

May 18, 2024 at 10am AND 1:30pm Glenbard North High School, 990 Kuhn Rd, Carol Stream, IL 60188

All dancers must arrive 30-45 minutes prior to the event ready to perform. Dancers should be dropped off outside the theatre entrance and staff will escort them to the waiting rooms.  CSPD staff and volunteers will supervise dancers in the backstage waiting rooms before and after their performance. For safety purposes only staff and volunteers with badges are permitted backstage or in the waiting rooms.

 

Arrival:

• Enter through Door 1. Recital arrival times for dancers:
  • arrive at 9:15 AM for 10am show and 1245pm for 130pm show
    • after you have dropped your dancer, please exit the backstage/holding area. This area can get back up and congested with lots of dancers, and we appreciate your help in ensuring their safety. Smaller dancers, should make sure to check the bathroom before being dropped off.
  • The doors open 45 min before the event.
  • Arrive dressed in dance costume including dance shoes. Hair and make-up should be styled according to instructions provided by Instructor. Do not bring additional bags/clothes. Label all clothing and shoes.
  • Preschool, Kinderdance and Ballet/Tap 1 dancers need to bring their dance shoes in a Ziploc bag with their name on it. This also applies to dancers who are in multiple numbers that have shoes to change.
  • Only drop off dancer with any shoes or costume changes. No water, food or items are to be brought backstage or in holding room.
  • We will have water available for dancers.

Additional Details:

Dancers are required to stay for entire show. They are all performing in Finale dance. Shows are estimated less than 90 min, including intermission. Please plan to stay whole show.

• If your dancer has multiple costumes, bring additional dance costumes labeled with name to dressing area.

• Dancer’s parents/guardians will not be permitted in dancer waiting area.
• The dance recital will run approximately 75 min, including a 15 min intermission.
• Flash photography and battery operated video recordings are not permitted during the dance recital. We ask that attendees remain seated and out of the aisles during the show.
• Professional video downloads/DVD’s will be available for purchase.

*We are aware this time of year is busy, these dates are given months in advance and we ask families plan accordingly to stay the entirety of the show. Much time and effort goes into planning shows, staffing and providing a great experience for all dancers, and families. Additionally, backstage crew are not able to dismiss students.

Dismissal

• For the safety of all participants, dancers will be dismissed one class at a time from the stage.
• Dance instructors will dismiss each dancer to the parent/guardian at the stage staircase located at the end of the stage.
• Remain seated until your class is called for dismissal.
• Send only one parent/guardian to retrieve dancer.
• Dancers with multiple classes will be taken backstage to retrieve their costumes prior to dismissal.
• Teachers love to take photos with their students but wait until they are all dismissed
• Please do not allow siblings or dancers on the stage after dismissal
• Do not attempt to take your child from our holding area. For circumstances that allow for pick up, a staff member will check out your child. Safety is our top priority.
