The 90,846 square foot Fountain View Recreation Center is operated by the Carol Stream Park District. Fountain View Recreation Center is the Carol Stream Park District’s flagship recreation center. It opened in September 2013. Funding for the center was approved by residents of Carol Stream Park District in a 2010 referendum. Construction began in October 2012.
The center is home to Fountain View Fitness, Carol Stream’s newest fitness facility. Membership includes access to the 7500 square foot fitness center, the indoor running track, lap swim, fitness classes, aqua fitness classes, and open gym.
Walk and run year-round on the indoor track at Fountain View Recreation Center. Access to the track is included with fitness memberships, and track-only memberships are also available. Carol Stream Park District residents can use the track for free during designated hours.
Bring your family to Fountain View for fun in the water during designated Leisure Swim Hours, or purchase a pool-only membership for lap swim – two lanes in the 25-yard lap pool kept open for lap swimming any time the pool is open. Youth and adult swimming lessons are also available. The center also features a warm water pool.
The gymnasium at Fountain View fits three basketball courts (which can be converted to two high school size courts). The gymnasium is open for a variety of Open Gym sports, including basketball, at designated times. It’s the perfect space for your team practice or game.
Fountain View Recreation Center is the perfect venue for birthdays, receptions, showers, or any special occasion. With scenic lake views, access to the outdoor patio, and state of the art equipment, this is the perfect place for your rental, party, or meeting. Several package choices and a variety of room options are available for groups from 20-160. The rooms may also be rented for meetings/seminars.
Western DuPage Special Recreation Association (WDSRA) offers several programs for children, teens, and adults with special needs in their dedicated room at Fountain View.
The center also has numerous eco-friendly features, such as a geothermal heating/cooling system, and permeable pavers in the parking lot, which has enabled the center to be eligible for a grant from the Illinois Clean Energy Community Foundation (ICECF). The center is expected to be rated as a LEED silver building.
