The Carol Stream Park District is honored to nominate William Bonnema as Special Citizen of the Year.
Bill and his family have been residents of Carol Stream for over 16 years. The Bonnema family includes his wife Jennifer, and his children Jacob, Luke, and Zachary. Bill has been very committed to helping the Carol Stream Park District succeed in our youth sports programs.
Bill has been active in the Carol Stream Park District since 2007 and has made the yearlong commitment coaching baseball, basketball and soccer. His dedication, selflessness and knowledge have and continue to be a major contributor to Carol Stream’s growing youth sports programs. Bill is exactly what the Carol Stream Park District looks for in a coach, because he not only takes the time to make his children better players, but every child that is part of his team or organization.
Bill also has been a big part of the Carol Stream Park District since creating the youth travel basketball program in 2010. The travel program became an affiliate of the Carol Stream Park District in 2011, and he has served as the president since the creation of the program We are thankful to have citizens like Bill who grant our community opportunities that they otherwise might not have.
We are very fortunate to have Bill Bonnema part of the Carol Stream Park District.
