Simkus Recreation Center was named for Robert Simkus, who was a Park Board Commissioner at the time that it was built and was instrumental in bringing a recreation center to Carol Stream.
The Center includes multiple classrooms for various programming throughout the year. It includes a large gymnasium that is used for programmed classes as well as open gym times and rentals.
This is one location for registering for all courses the Carol Stream Park District offers. It is also the home of Coral Cove Water Park.
The facility has many rooms that are available for rental, from our gym that holds up to 400 guests to a small room for a birthday party either put on by the Carol Stream Park District or hosted on your own.
Simkus Recreation Center is home to dance, gymnastics, summer day camp, and theater programs. The gymnasium is host to various indoor sports, such as archery, basketball, and volleyball. Simkus is also home to popular special events.
